Autism Rates across the Developed World

By nazera - July 21, 2020

It is hard to get information as some countries don't track and report their autism numbers, which is a must because it can be good thing to do for improvement in the future. The most recently reported result of autism is from Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, and Taiwan.

Countries that does not track or report their autism rates was set to be a failure as they failed to show concern regarding the childhood epidemic spreading across the globe.Such as in Korea, the stigma that an autism label against the entire families prevent parents from identifying the cause of the autism and cause two per three of South Korea's autistic children to live without treatment. In Asia, the children that has been registered as autistic is mostly in urban areas rather than rural due to lack of awareness about autism or environmental reasons such as there are less autistic children among rural areas.

HERE ARE THE NUMBER OF AUTISM DIAGNOSES PER 10,000 CHILDREN IN OUR SELECTED COUNTRIES:

Focus for Health founder, Barry Segal, is dedicated to ensuring that parents around the world have up-to-date information to make decisions for their children.
“This disparity in autism awareness and access to services emphasizes the need for a cohesive global autism plan,” he said. “We can’t begin to compare the environmental factors at fault if we don’t know the true rates of urban and rural autism prevalence across the globe, and that begins with educating parents and removing the public stigma of autism.”
